As a Professor and Master's supervisor at the School of English Language and Culture, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, I specialize in Clinical linguistics, Language acquisition, and Syntax. I earned my Ph.D. from the Research Centre for Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at my current institution, which is a key research base for Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education.
In my academic career, I have successfully completed one National Social Science Foundation project as the principal investigator and contributed to two others. Currently, I am leading a Henan Province Philosophy and Social Science project. I have authored an academic monograph published by the China Social Sciences Press and have published numerous articles in esteemed journals including Journal of Child Language (Q1 in Linguistics), Language Acquisition (Q2 in Linguistics & A&HCI), Applied Psycholinguistics (Q1 in Linguistics), Lingua, Foreign Languages, Modern Foreign Languages, and Contemporary Linguistics.
My research in Clinical linguistics and Language acquisition has been pioneering in China. I was among the first to apply generative linguistics theory to investigate syntactic impairments in Mandarin-speaking children with Developmental Language Disorder. This work has yielded significant results, both theoretically and practically. On the theoretical front, I proposed the "Underspecification of Edge Features Hypothesis," which offers strong explanatory power. In practical terms, my research findings have important implications for the diagnosis and intervention of children with language disorders.
