Professor Wei Zaijiang serves as a professor in the Faculty of English Language and Culture Studies, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), holding a Ph.D. degree and supervising doctoral students. He is also a researcher at the Key Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences under the Ministry of Education—the Foreign Language Linguistics and Applied Linguistics Research Center. As a senior Fulbright Scholar, he pursued academic studies at the University of Oregon in the United States, where he learned language philosophy and cognitive linguistics under the guidance of renowned philosopher Mark Johnson. In March 2015, he was appointed as a "Yunshan Distinguished Scholar" at GDUFS. Currently, he holds the position of Vice President of the Embodied Cognitive Linguistics Professional Committee of the Huaxia Culture Promotion Society, Executive Director of the Cognitive Linguistics Professional Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, Executive Director of the China Pragmatics Society, among others. His primary research interests encompass cognitive linguistics, contrastive linguistics, pragmatics, and text analysis.

Professor Wei has published over 80 academic papers, many of which have been reprinted and indexed by the Chinese Social Sciences Abstracts and the People's University of China Reprint Series. He has been selected as a highly cited author in the field of "Language and Literature" by the 2009 Chinese Journal Highly Cited Index and as one of the top 50 highly cited authors in foreign language and literature from 2006 to 2018 by XueShuZhi. He has authored three academic monographs, including "A Cognitive-Pragmatic Study of Pragmatic Presupposition." He has presided over three national social science fund projects, including general and key projects. Additionally, he has received the Second Level Prize of the Eighth Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements in Colleges and Universities from the Ministry of Education.
