Profile

I work as a professor, researcher and postgraduate supervisor in the Faculty of English Language and Culture, GDUFS. I received the national CSC scholarship twice and worked at the University of Toronto and the Pennsylvania State University respectively for one year as a visiting scholar. My publications have appeared in both national and international academic journals. I am the author of one book entitled Chinese EFL Learners' Lexical Learning Through and Within Collaborative Output.

Research interests

My main research interest lies in second language acquisition, and second language writing teaching and feedback. My research focuses on second language writing corrective feedback and language development, vocabulary acquisition, interaction, collaborative learning, collaborative writing, interactive alignment, sociocultural theory and second language development.

· Effect of languaging on enhancing L2 interactive alignment

· Languaging as learning facilitator in foreign language writing pedagogy

· AI-supported foreign language writing feedback: practice and effectiveness

· Board member of journal “Assessing Writing”.

· Member of the Specialized Committee on Language Testing and Evaluation of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese.

 

Student education

I teach modules on undergraduate programs, covering the following areas: English narrative writing, English argumentative writing, introduction to linguistics, and English prose appreciation;

I also teacher modules on graduate programs, including course design and classroom management, and sociocultural theory and second language development.
