The World’s Top 2% Scientists List is based on a composite indicator (c-score) of the Scopus Data Repository calculated from six citation metrics: total citations (NC), H-index (H), Hm-index (H-index adjusted for the number of authors), citations to single-author papers (NCS), citations to single or first-author papers (NCSF), and citations to single, first, or last-author papers (NCSFL). The top 2% scientists have been selected from nearly seven million worldwide, covering 22 fields and 174 subfields. The c-score provides a comprehensive and objective measure of scientists’ long-term research performance and impact. The Career-long Impact List assesses the overall performance of scientists throughout their careers, while the Single-Year List focuses more on academic impact in the previous year. Inclusion in the list indicates that the scientists have a profound global impact in their research fields.
