Zheng Jie is a Professor with the Faculty of English Language and Culture at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, China. She received her PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research interests include drama and theatre studies, nonhuman narrative and Ethical Literary Criticism. Dr. Zheng’s critical work on Bertolt Brecht has been published in The Brecht Yearbook and The German Quarterly. Her monograph Towards an Ethical Subject: Brecht and China was published in 2020. She is currently working on a manuscript entitled Nonhuman Narrative in Modern Theatre and a research project of Brecht’s Materialistic Ethics and its Chinese Source. Dr. Zheng is also a reviewer of the international journals Interdisciplinary Studies of Literature, Forum for World Literature Studies and Foreign Literature Studies.
