Cuilin Sang is a professor of American literature at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. She holds a PhD in English from the University of St Andrews, UK. Her research and teaching focus is on contemporary English poetries, poetry translation, ecological criticism, comparative poetics and intermedial studies. She has taught at the Faculty of English Language and Culture, GDUFS since 2005. Her current research project “The Intermeidal Metamodernity in the Poetry of Jorie Graham”, funded by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, looks into the intersections between intermediality and metamodernity and their poetic manifestations and ramifications in the poems of the contemporary American poet Jorie Graham. She is also interested in the subjects of urgency, displacement, (dis/re)embodiment and new terrains of technological philosophy explored in Graham’s poetry. Her central research project is the poetic medium in experimental, explorative or speculative English poetries that either resonate with or are curious about, tolerant and inclusive of non-Western languages, philosophies and ecologies.
