FENG Guangwu

Guangwu FENG received his BA in English Literature at Sichuan International Studies University in 1985, MA in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in 1993, MA in Linguistics and English Language Teaching at the University of Leeds in 2001, and PhD in Linguistics at the University of Reading in 2006. He is currently Professor of Linguistics at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, a Fulbright (Yale) Research Scholar, Vice-chair of the China Association for the Philosophy of Language, and a member of the Advisory Committee of English Major Education of the Ministry of Education.

Professor Feng’s research interests include semantics, pragmatics, and ordinary language philosophy. He has published a monograph (A Theory of Conventional Implicature and Pragmatic Markers in Chinese) at Emerald Publishing Limited and over 40 articles in leading national and international journals, including Journal of Pragmatics, Language Sciences, Pragmatics & Cognition, Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Foreign Language Research, Modern Foreign Languages, and Foreign Language World.
