    Overview

The Faculty of English Language and Culture has a distinguished history of graduate education dating back to the late 1970s. We were among the first institutions in China to be granted the right to award master’s degrees in 1981, following the reinstatement of the national College Entrance Examination. In 1986, we obtained the authority to award doctoral degrees, positioning us among the early institutions to offer doctoral programs after the restoration of the graduate education system in China.
